XpressIt Dance Center – Jazz
Jazz is a rhythmic, percussive art form seen primarily in commercial venues such as Broadway shows, The Academy Awards, and dance reviews. Evolving from a blend of European and African traditional social dances, it assimilated into the American culture. Jazz dancing is energetic and fun, consisting of unique moves, fancy footwork, big leaps and quick turns. To excel in Jazz, dancers need a strong background in Ballet, as it encourages grace and balance. Please refer to our schedule for course times and instruction details.
- What is Jazz Attire? Dancers must come prepared for class in studio leotard, tights and black jazz shoes. All dancers must have their hair secured back and away from their face. Studio leotards may be purchased from the front office.
- Jewelry should never be worn to class and teacher may ask students to remove jewelry while taking class. Small earrings are acceptable. The studio will not be responsible if jewelry is lost while taking class.
